Our missions
IMANI is a non-profit organisation committed to transforming lives and communities by fighting all forms of violence and discrimination affecting women, young people, minorities, and vulnerable individuals.
Our ambition is clear: to turn awareness into empowerment and to provide women and youth with tangible tools to rebuild, express themselves, and shape their future.
We promote the rights of women and children by placing respect, dignity, and equality at the heart of all our actions. Through a combination of art, education, and mentoring, we create inclusive spaces that encourage prevention, dialogue, and long-term change.
Our fields of action
01
Raise Awareness – Theatre as a catalyst for change
Our flagship theatre project, “UNIVERSELLES – Hidden Wounds”, raises awareness about violence against women and equality of opportunity. Based on real stories, the play addresses themes such as social exclusion, racism, harassment and domestic violence. Performances are followed by interactive discussions, allowing audiences — from age 12 upwards — to share, reflect, and commit to positive change. This creative format makes prevention tangible, emotional, and accessible to all.
02
Educate – School interventions for equality
Education is the foundation of prevention. Following performances, our workshops invite students to express themselves, decode gender stereotypes, and explore equality through creativity. The “Junior Sexism Mural” offers a participatory tool for reflection and dialogue, fostering empathy and civic responsibility among young people.
03
Inspire – “What would you say to the child you once were?” Exhibition
This evolving exhibition features over fifty portraits of women and male allies whose life stories exemplify resilience and empowerment. Each edition integrates new faces from partner regions, celebrating diversity and collective strength. It invites the public to reflect, identify, and project themselves into new possibilities.
04
Mobilise – Youth prevention spot competition
We give voice to youth through a national creative prevention spot competition. Students are invited to produce videos inspired by the play and workshops, highlighting their understanding of equality and respect. The award ceremony — hosted in emblematic institutions such as the National Assembly or Senate — amplifies their message and underlines the value of their civic engagement.
05
Support – Personal development and coaching workshops
We support women facing violence or vulnerability through dedicated coaching and group workshops. These sessions focus on rebuilding self-esteem, identifying strengths, and preparing for professional and personal reintegration. Each woman leaves with renewed confidence and a clearer vision of her own value.
06
Facilitate integration – Mentoring and employability pathways
IMANI designs tailored mentoring programmes for women and youth seeking autonomy. Through individual guidance, CV and interview training, and goal-setting exercises, participants acquire the skills and confidence to enter or re-enter the job market. Our approach combines professional development with human connection — building bridges toward long-term stability.
Our impact and vision
Each mission contributes to a holistic ecosystem of change, transforming individual resilience into collective empowerment.
By uniting our artistic, educational, and mentoring initiatives, IMANI aims to reach 10,000 beneficiaries over two years, strengthen local partnerships, and contribute to a society where every voice counts and every life matters.
Our vision
A world where women and youth are free from violence, aware of their worth, and empowered to shape a fairer, more equal future.
